Home Learning Help
Oh, Year Five, how have eight weeks already gone by? We hope you are well at home and are able to complete some school work, remember to keep practising your times tables, have a look at the Oxford Owl spelling program and please read as much as possible. It could be anything, fiction, newspapers, recipes when doing some baking. If you can keep on top of the basics, when we do return to school, you will feel a lot better. Check out the new home learning grid for this week below. Take part in the Art competition, or the sports challenge running at the moment. Looking at the BBC Bitesize schedule for this week, there's some nice lessons based around fractions - you were fab at our fraction unit at school, take a look and remind yourself! We hope you have a productive week. Stay safe and well, from your friendly year five staff.
Pix are offering a free competition based around programming, which is open to all children from 6-11. It uses block-based programming, which is what we teach across all year groups and there are computer equipment prizes on offer! You complete this challenge through a program, which only works on a laptop or device running Windows, although there is a version available for iOS. Click here for more information.
During your time at home, please try to read as much as possible. This can be anything, from school reading books to comics and magazines. Remember to log on to your Oxford Reading Buddy account regularly (passwords in packs)
Year five and six spelling words are included in your home learning packs. Along with a range of 'spoodle' activities to help you practice these tricky spellings.
During your time at home, try to keep as active as possible. There are some links above for exercise activities which can be completed at home.
