How is the effectiveness of the provision for pupils with SEND evaluated?
We have high expectations for our pupils with SEND, and respond proactively when we feel that a strategy is not having the intended impact. We strive towards our pupils with SEND making progress at the same rate as their peers, from their starting points.
We pride ourselves in ensuring our SEND pupils receive a bespoke curriculum directly inline with their ability and level. We have adopted the Birmingham Toolkits in order to support with this. All SEND children from Years 1-6 have completed a rigorous baseline assessment inline with these toolkits which allows teachers to pitch work according to the child's individual level, as well as tailor interventions accurately. The expectation for SEND children is to make 2 bands progress in their specific area each academic year. Children at Fordbridge often exceed this expectation with over 85% of pupils making at least 2 bands progress in each area of learning in Maths, Reading and Writing.
