Monday - Forest School
Outdoor Clothing
Please ensure your child comes to school wearing navy or black joggers/leggings and their usual school top and jumper.
Named wellies must be brought in.
A named coat with a waterproof hood is essential.
Please also send in a change of clothes in case of bad weather.
Thank you for helping us keep the children warm, dry, and ready for outdoor learning!
Friday - P.E
PE Kit
Children should come to school dressed in their PE kit on PE days.
PE kit includes:
A white t-shirt
Black, or navy blue trousers or shorts
Their school jumper or cardigan
Thank you for your support in ensuring children are prepared and comfortable for PE activities.
General Reminders
Head Lice
Please check your child’s hair regularly for head lice and treat if necessary.
Water Bottles
Please provide your child with a named, reusable water bottle each day. Bottles can be refilled throughout the day.
Snack Time
Children may bring a healthy snack for break times at 10:15am and 2:30pm.
Parental Support
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to speak to a member of the Year 1 Team.
Homework – Reading
Please aim to read with your child at least three times a week and remember to sign their home reading diary each time.
Regular reading at home makes a big difference to your child’s progress—thank you for your support!

PSHE - Pants Rule
As part of our PSHE curriculum, we will be revisiting the PANTS rule each half term to help children understand the importance of personal safety in a child-friendly and age-appropriate way.

Read Write Inc. (RWI)
All children in Year 1 will be taking part in daily Read Write Inc. (RWI) lessons this year to help develop their phonics and early reading skills.

Times tables - In Year 1 the children will learn their 10, 2 and 5 times table. Please encourage your child to practise their times tables on Times Table Rock Stars!
