In Science we are learning all about Materials.  We will be sorting different materials into groups, we will also be making things out of different materials.

Our theme for the first part of this term is Ourselves.  We will then be focusing on 'Magical Fairy Tales'

In Maths we are continuing to count, write and know our numbers from 0 to 100. We will  be looking at 2D and 3D shapes, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division . We are also to learning our number bonds to 20.  It is important that children continue to practice their 2, 5 and 10 times table.  We also will learn about capacity.

    Read Write Inc

All children in year one are taking part in RWI .

During these sessions, children will be reading with a member of staff on a daily basis. At the end of each week some children will be bringing home a spelling sheet and a RWI book every Wednesday for them to read over the following week. Please ensure that all RWI books and spelling sheets are returned to school by the following Wednesday.

Also take a look at our RWI letter formation programme feel free to save and print this sheet to practice at home.

Your child practices their RWI sounds every day using the complex sound chart. To help your child further develop why not practice at home too.

Thank you
