For your homework we would like you to keep practising what we have been learning about in maths.
Collection some empty different containers. Choose one that will be your measuring container.
Which other container do you think will hold more?
Can you find a way to measure it?
Now find a container that will hold less?
How many of the little containers can you fill with your measuring container?
Spellings are sent out on a Thursday and will be tested the following Thursday.

Our theme for this term is Toys We will be looking at toys from different counties. How toys have changed over the years and what toys are made out of.
In Maths we are continuing to count, write and know our numbers from 0 to 100. We will be looking at 2D and 3D shapes, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division . We are also to learning our number bonds to 20. It is important that children continue to practice their 2, 5 and 10 times table. We also will learn about capacity.

Please remember to read at least three times per week!
Read Write Inc
All children in year one are taking part in RWI .
During these sessions, children will be reading with a member of staff on a daily basis. At the end of each week some children will be bringing home a spelling sheet and a RWI book every Wednesday for them to read over the following week. Please ensure that all RWI books and spelling sheets are returned to school by the following Wednesday.

Your child practices their RWI sounds every day using the complex sound chart. To help your child further develop why not practice at home too.
In Year One our aim is to work collaboratively with our parents and carers. If you ever need to speak to a member of staff please do not hesitate you can speak to Miss Bradbury, Mrs Behan Mrs Weaver and Mrs Palmer either before school or from 3.15pm as our doors are always open.
