Year 3 Curriculum Newsletter

Welcome to Year 3!

 

 

Our page will be updated with all the exciting things we have going on and any important messages.

Important notice

please could you inform the office staff if anyone different will be collecting your child/children from school or after school clubs.

IMPORTANT DATES FOR YOUR DIARY.

 

 

 

 

23rd-January

All year 3 children will be attending a sports afternoon

at the North Solihull Sports Centre.

 

15th-February-Half term.

25th-February-Inset Day.

26th-February Children return to school.

 

7th-March World Book Day.

11th-March Silly Science.

15th-March Red Nose Day.

20th-March Parents Evening.

21st- March Parents Evening.

22nd-March Extravaganza.

 

 

We will be visiting a Hindu Temple as part of our RE lessons.

The three classes will be split over two days.

One group will visit on the 4th April and the second on 11th April

Parents will be notified of which children will be going on which days.

 

 

.12th-April End of term.

 

29th-April Children return to school.

13th June Rainforest Man Workshop

 

 

17th-June School Photographer.

20th-June Graduation.

Parents will be notified of which level the children will be graduating.

25th-June Sports Day.

19th July End of  School Year.

Here are some fantastic pieces of work that our Yr 3 children produced for their Stone Age homework.

HOMEWORK

 

 

 

CHILDREN HAVE A TABLE IN FRONT OF THERE HOMEWORK BOOKS.

THE TABLE IS FULL OF DIFFERENT ACTIVITIES. CHILDREN MUST COMPLETE AT LEAST 

ONE ACTIVITY A WEEK (THEY CAN CHOOSE MORE IF THEY WISH)

THEY CAN TICK OR HIGHLIGHT THE ACTIVITY THEY HAVE COMPLETED AND WHERE POSSIBLE RECORD EVIDENCE IN THEIR HOMEWORK BOOKS.

CHILDREN CAN EARN DIFFERENT AMOUNTS OF DOJOS FOR WORK COMPLETED.

HOMEWORK BOOKS WILL BE GIVEN OUT ON FRIDAYS AND THEY WILL BE COLLECTED IN ON WEDNESDAYS.

 

 

READING!!

 

READING EVERY DAY IS AN ESSENTIAL PART OF LEARNING

 

 

CAN ALL CHILDREN REMEMBER TO READ EVERY DAY. 

READING BOOK AND DIARY MUST BE IN SCHOOL EVERY DAY

WITH COMMENT AND SIGNATURE FROM AN ADULT.

 

 

CHILDREN WILL EARN A DOJO EVERY TIME THEY READ.

 

WHEN YOUR CHILD HAS READ 25 BOOKS THEY WILL RECEIVE A BRONZE CERTIFICATE.

 

WHEN YOUR CHILD HAS READ 50 BOOKS THEY WILL RECEIVE A SILVER .CERTIFICATE.

 

WHEN YOUR CHILD HAS READ 100 BOOKS THEY WILL RECEIVE A GOLD CERTIFICATE.

 

AND AT 125 BOOKS YOUR CHILD WILL RECEIVE A DIAMOND CERTIFICATE

PLUS A GIFT FROM SCHOOL.

WATER BOTTLES

 

 

PLEASE ENSURE YOUR CHILD HAS A SUITABLE WATER BOTTLE CONTAINING WATER IN SCHOOL EVERY DAY.

CHILDREN WILL BE ABLE TO REFILL THEIR BOTTLES FROM OUR WATER FOUNTAINS AROUND SCHOOL
