Year 3 Curriculum Newsletter

Welcome to Year 3!smiley

Our page will be updated with all the exciting things we have going on and any important messages. The teachers in year 3 are Miss Betts and Miss Kiely. The teaching assistant is Mrs Allen.



A few Important Messages!

  • Can all children please be in school in suitable black shoes  and complete uniform grey skirt/trousers or dress, white shirt,and burgundy jumper/cardigan.
  • Can we ensure children have their PE kits every thursday. 
  • It is really important that your child has their water bottle in school everyday.
  • They are able to fill it up with fresh water from the water fountain on a daily basis.

  • Children should have a healthy snack for breaktime. 


  • In order to keep head lice at bay please check you ​ child nearly every day  

Our new topic this term is Spain. All staff are very proud of the theme homework we have had so far! Well done year 3!!no

Spellings and Homework

Every other week we will send spellings home.  

The children should bring these home on Friday and they will be tested the following week.  Please help your child to learn their spellings by asking them how to spell the words.


Homework will be sent home on a Friday, this is then due in by the following Wednesday.  The homework will be English, Maths or Theme based.


Children should read at least 3 times a week! Reading can earn them a dojo!



PE will be on a Thursday - Please make sure school PE kit is provided (indoor and outdoor).

Please remember to read at least three times per week



When your child has read 25 books they will receive a bronze certificate.


When your child has read 50 books they will receive a silver certificate


When your child has read 100 books they will receive a gold certificate


and at 125 books your child will receive a diamond certificate and a gift from school.
